TOPIC: Certify copy of his own/spouse's document

Certify copy of his own/spouse's document 3 weeks 4 days ago #2470

Hello,

Can a notary attest a copy of a document (high school diploma, for example) that belongs to him or to his spouse?

Tried to search online, but didn't find an answer.
In my understanding, it is not related to notarizing signature or to being side of a deal, or benefiting from it.

p.s.:
Florida permits to notarize diploma, but not transcripts:
" The Florida Governor’s Reference Manual for Notaries subsequently states that diplomas are one of the documents which can indeed be attested by a notary. [In Florida, the notary rules are very clear and precise. The rules exclude notary attested copies of student records (including transcripts) kept in public education offices, but does allow for a notary to attest to a copy of a diploma.]
